Sometimes you feel life is just a dream and you'll be waking up any moment now.
Or sometimes you realise things you never had before, even if they were right under your nose.
You can meet so many people from other countries on the internet, and we can relate to them in many ways because we're humans. But when you actually go there, you can see how different their community is. Remember Mdm\Ms Low and her New Zealand comparison? That's what i'm talking about.
You can chat up your pen-pal like any other person in Singapore, but our societies can be very different. People greet each other differently. People act differently towards strangers. People are genuine and kind, or cold and indifferent. Such as Singaporeans.
In another way of expressing it, things may seem perfect on the surface, but once you immerse yourself in the problem, things start to look very different. Imagine to people like Microsoft, Crescent is such a pioneer in use of technology in schools. O holy Crescent, praise be to ye!
Well they're doofuses.
On the inside, Crescent actually doesn't give much opportunity to use our tablet PC for effective learning. Nothing besides reading powerpoints, which teachers read off anyway. I've also heard that the TPC is pretty much of no use once Sec 3 comes.
Another thing. I've also imagined social castes in the weirdest of places. It's really funny.
Imagine if an old folks' homes is like a high-school. I mean, the old people who can eat and shit and sleep on their own must be like the jocks and cheerleaders 'cuz ther so awezum. Then the old people who can tell old grandmother stories can be the teachers. The poor bedridden folks have to listen to the teachers' old grandmother stories all the frickin' time.
And the wheelchair people are the outcasts 'cuz dhey are pushed around by people.
Just like the real outcasts!
(See what I did there? A pun! Haha aha ha, ha, aha, ha.. ha.)
And this can actually be true! Well, maybe. Possibly. Kinda. Sorta. Maybe. In a million years.
ANYHOO.
It's cool to dream. But then your mom wakes you up way too early when it's still the holidays and you haven't started on any homework and you sit on your ass all day watching dramas.
Life's a bitch. ='(
