Happy New Year to you,
I've got nothing to do,
It's always New Year's when...
I've got nothing to do!
I'm sure you're bored of hearing 'Christmas\New Year is just another day to me' because all the lians, bimbos and bengs have only just realised that, but again, I find myself at home with nothing to do when everyone's counting down to the new year.
It seems to many, New Year is just a day to party and celebrate. Because they forget that they'll be faced, again, with stress, nervousness, anger, happiness, sorrow, and occasionally a few memorable moments. It's another vicious cycle. When you realise this you don't really want the year to end. You cling onto the past. Many despise change because they fear it, if only because it's where we can find comfort and familiarity. Whether it's in our previous class, previous friends, previous teachers, previous subjects, previous homework and previous lives, we all remember the good times and the bad and how they were overcome. Or how they were never overcome.
And then I don't look forward to the New Year so much. But it's an hour away. Slowly ticking down. Like a pipe bomb. Making mysterious ticking noises. To a new year of pain and joy. So inevitable. So uncontrollable. Unmanageable. Unfair.
Ah, hell, happy new year everyone. I'd like to see what 2010 can shove in my face this time.
