The trouble with simple living is that, though it can be joyful, rich, and creative, it isn't simple.

I've always wanted an iPhone. Everytime I see someone signed onto ebuddy for iPhone and iPod Touch, I'd wish I were them.

But now I don't.

Why do I really need some fancy brick just to SMS and call people? And, on rare occasion, play games? Of course, their SMS format is genius, and the design and wifi capability is a sure plus. But all I ever use my phone for is SMSing and calling people. Yet it's nice to use and show off a cool gadget. Until everyone pesters you if they can use it, can they play Cooking Mama, can they look through your contacts, can they use your camera on themselves, all while hogging your precious, expensive phone. Why pay for all those new, nifty features, even gimmicks, if you don't need them?

Having to be content with what you have is a norm in human life. In material luxuries, it's not uncommon we have to settle for less because of limitations. However it's a virtue to be able to be content with luxuries without being forced to - to enjoy the simple pleasures of life (ha, Hweepeng).

In things like academic, athletic and creative art success, we should always crave to achieve better for ourselves. But this is different. It's called simplicity - making the journey of life with just enough baggage.
